Employers

If you hold a position of responsibility in a company and are required to make decisions regarding personnel, then you will know that the world of education and training is becoming increasingly confusing in our knowledge-based society and that the correct assessment of qualification certificates or diplomas is becoming increasingly challenging.

The DQR and the EQF will help you to compare qualifications across Europe. The level indicated on a diploma or certificate makes it easier to understand the level of the qualification obtained abroad in terms of requirements. It shows what an applicant knows, understands and is able to do.

It becomes easier for you to compare qualifications – in particular from other European countries.

  • The DQR provides you with an additional tool for making appropriate personnel decisions.

  • The allocation of vocational education and training qualifications together with higher education qualifications on levels 6 and 7 makes the high quality of German vocational education and training visible across Europe. This might be useful when applying for international tenders.

  • You can also use the DQR description categories within your company to create greater transparency, for example when developing skills and competence profiles, job descriptions, job advertisements and analyses of actual performance against targets.

  • If the qualifications in your field of activity are subject to major changes or an increase in transparency seems sensible for other reasons, the development of sectoral qualifications frameworks on the basis of the DQR might also be helpful for you.
