What kind of qualification type is it?
This qualification is a higher education/university degree. A system of tiered qualifications has been agreed upon in the European Higher Education Area. These are Bachelor degrees, Master’s degrees and doctorates.
Bachelor is the title given to academic qualifications which are awarded following successful completion of the first cycle according to the German Higher Education Qualifications Framework and the qualifications frameworks of the European Higher Education Area. Persons acquiring academic degrees at Bachelor level are qualified for activities on the labour market or to pursue Master’s course of study. The usual period of study is a minimum of three years and a maximum of four years, equivalent to 180 and 240 ECTS points respectively.
Which competent authority issues the qualification certificate?
The university, where the final examination took place, issues the diploma including the Diploma Supplement.

- Higher education entrance qualification (general or subject-specific higher education entrance qualification, University of Applied Sciences entrance qualification, opportunities governed by federal state law granting higher education access to applicants with vocational qualifications who are not in possession of a school-based higher education entrance qualification)

Successful completion of a Bachelor course of study in accordance with the examination regulations.
